Groningen, usually a mid-table Eredivisie team, suffered an unexpected relegation in the 2022/23 season but managed to return in the following one. This year, they are back to their usual placement as they are sitting in 11th place with 38 points from 32 matches. However, they have a massive motive in the remaining two games because they are only one point away from securing the Conference League Play-Offs. After a super challenging game against Ajax, they will face 14th-placed Zwolle.
